About the Role
The Pharmacologist will work to validate and optimize cell assays characterizing GPCR ligands and inflammatory responses. They will also coordinate and execute the screening of compounds and perform detailed studies of high priority compounds, and will work with the CSO to plan and execute additional studies with external partners. In vivo pharmacology experience is not required, but will be considered a bonus. The Pharmacologist is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, keeping diligent records using electronic lab notebooks and related databases, and assisting with the preparation of patent applications and manuscripts. They may also assist with the supervision and training of junior scientists. This is a full time position. A flexible benefits package (including stock options) will be provided.

Requirements
M.S., Ph.D., or related degree in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
B.S. level pharmacologists with >2 years experience validating and optimizing assays may also be considered.
Demonstrated experience in GPCR and/or inflammation pharmacology is a bonus.
About the Company
Function Therapeutics, Inc. is a new research firm developing novel approaches and molecules for the treatment of certain inflammation-driven disorders, including kidney disease, thrombosis, and neurodegeneration. Its research labs are presently located on campus at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
