Function Therapeutics receives SBIR award to study neuropathic pain

Function Therapeutics has been awarded a Phase 1 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).
The grant, valued at up to $699,933, is titled “Parmodulins without Abuse Potential for the Treatment of Neuropathic Pain”. The project supports the discovery of anti-inflammatory molecules of the parmodulin class at Function Therapeutics, and their testing in models of neuropathic pain. This is the 6th competitive research grant won by Function Therapeutics since it started operations in 2022.
